Biondo y Caggiano took the first turn without changing the script

The wind was barely a spectator, but the track at Roberto Mouras did not give much room for surprises. On Saturday, the practice sessions for the ninth round of Procar 4000 ended with the same leading names as Friday: Biondo in Class A and Caggiano in Class B. Familiar script, very little margin.

Biondo, with barely 91 thousandths of advantage

Nicolás Biondo posted the best time in Class A: 1m37s411 with the Dodge prepared by Guarnaccia Motorsport. The difference was minimal. Gastón Rossi, the champion, was only 91 thousandths behind, also in a Dodge. Leonardo Nowak completed the podium with a Chevrolet, 95 thousandths off the leading mark.

There was room for a few names further back in the order. Oscar Sánchez was fourth with a Ford, followed by Alan Guevara in Dodge, Emanuel Pérez Bravo and Germán Pietranera in Chevrolet, Juan Farabello in Chevrolet and Ramiro Dailoff in Dodge. Fabrizio Maggini, also in Chevrolet, closed the top ten.

Caggiano and Bava kept control in Class B

In Class B, Ronnie Caggiano, sharing the Dodge of José C. Paz Racing with Carli Bava, led both of Saturday’s sessions. His best lap was 1m41s692. Joaquín Pasquale was 235 thousandths away in a Chevrolet, while Germán Pietranera, driving a Ford alongside Roque Caggiano, completed the top three at 414 thousandths.

Santiago Pasquale was fourth in the combined standings, ahead of Ariel García and Mario Andreoli. Gabriel Villalba, Santiago Florio, Francisco Florio and Francisco Tamagno, in a Dodge, completed the top ten. The classification for both divisions was scheduled for 2:07 p.m. on Saturday.

  • Class A leader: Nicolás Biondo, Dodge, Guarnaccia Motorsport, 1m37s411.
  • Second place in Class A: Gastón Rossi, 91 thousandths behind.
  • Class A third: Leonardo Nowak, 95 thousandths off the best time.
  • Class B leader: Ronnie Caggiano and Carli Bava, Dodge, José C. Paz Racing, 1m41s692.
  • Second place in Class B: Joaquín Pasquale, 235 thousandths behind.
  • Third place in Class B: Germán Pietranera and Roque Caggiano, 414 thousandths behind.

As for who could still surprise in the classification and alter the weekend’s order, the numbers leave the door open but not wide. Rossi is right behind Biondo, and Caggiano has shown consistency. The gaps are small enough for a single good lap to matter, and that is exactly where the uncertainty begins. After all, a championship decided by thousandths has a habit of making plans look as solid as a paper tent in the wind. The one that comes will be settled on the track.
